Day 1 Wrap-Up

Sorry for the short one line posts during the tournament, but for some reason, if i get too wordy, the post gets cut short. It doesnt say anywhere how long mobile posts can be. Thanks for your understanding.

Well.....I made it (I know I already said that). I will be starting tomorrow at Table 2, Seat 2, with T17,100 in chips. A couple of hands of note, one I can't speak of right now, a couple I can.

The second hand of Level 5 (blinds T300/T600 with a T75 ante) I was down to about to about T13,000 and had 8 8. A player had pushed for about T8000 in front of me, and I decided it was time to take a stand. I went all-in, and got everyone else to fold. He tables Ks Qc.

The flop came X 2 8 with two spades.

The turn is the As.

And we all know what the last card was, don't we?

It was a spade........but the 2s, giving me a full house, eights full of twos.

WHEW!!!!!

Another hand that really really really hurt.......

Playing against Gavin, I look down and have AA. I raise to T800, everyone folds to Gavin, who calls.

The flop comes out Q 7 7. I bet T1200, Gavin calls.

The turn is the 10s. Check....Check.

The river? A third 7.

I bet out T2100, and Gavin goes all-in for about T3000 more.

I call, and he shows.......................................

K7 for quad 7's.

That, my friends, is a cruel game named poker.

Here is a link to pokerwire.com, who provides live poker updates, but this would be the only time you see my name on it, as I am a nobody in the poker world.

Also, this link is to an interview with Gavin Smith where he discusses a hand where he had to lay down pocket Kings pre-flop. (I am the one he was up against).

And this final link is to the latest episode of pokerwire radio, where Gavin talks about the hand and uses it to describe the difference between East and West coast players.

Thats all for now!

P.S.: I have to announce that there were no Dutch Boyd sightings at this tournament. :o)
